He graduated from Oxford University. Additionally, he had experience teaching at school. He could have easily defined the character with young children in the story. He wrote many books before Lord of the Flies and received the Nobel Prize for Literature. William has experience as a Marine in World Wall Ⅱ, which he may well portray in the story. In 1993, he ended his life.Main CharactersThere are many characters in the book but especially Ralph, Piggy, Jack and Simon are the main ones in the book. First, when the plane crashed on the island, he was one of the oldest people and became the leader. They were all alone, without the adults they would need, so Ralph became the leader. Later he met the fat boy Piggy, wearing glasses although he didn't want to call him as Piggy which was his nickname but all the kids on the island were all teasing him.
