  • Essay / The influence of paper color on memory recall

Memory refers to the mental process of encoding, retaining, and retrieving information from the environment. (Dzulkifli & Mustafar, 2013) Cognitive psychologists are still studying how human cognition manages memorization. Many variables have been proposed to contribute to recovery operations and one of them is color. Color is the most influential aspect that could increase students' study skills. (Denby, 2002). Some studies explain that color can influence memory in one way or another. Color is considered the most essential visual experience for human beings. It functions as an influential information network in the human brain and plays an important role in improving memory performance. It can also improve attention levels and arousal, which can improve memory. (Spence, et al, 2006; Dzulkifli & Mustafar, 2013)This experiment focuses on the improvement that the color of paper can bring to learning abilities. Some colored papers represent meaning; for example, green represents positive and can negate negative effects on your brain, and yellow signifies mind and intelligence. These colors are clear and very attractive to our eye and brain. Having colorful papers will trigger a part of our brain that will make it more attractive and curious about the contents of the paper. Color manipulation is also important for businesses to improve their sales and make their business more profitable.
