Subtitle D of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act addresses privacy and security issues associated with the electronic transmission of health information. The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act requires that beginning in 2011, all health care providers be offered the opportunity for financial incentives to demonstrate meaningful use of health records. electronic health (EHR).
