Personal statementSocial work is of great interest and personal importance to me and, ultimately, I hope to realize my ambition of becoming a social worker. After working as a volunteer with Project Safe, a domestic violence helpline, I realized I had a passion for helping people. I take great pleasure in my work and it has taught me a lot. Additionally, I am currently studying social work preparation at Demontfort University, where I have proven myself to be a committed student. I hope this course will allow me to obtain a degree in social work. During my work at The Safe project, I learned many new skills. This has helped me develop my communication skills with clients on sensitive subjects, we deal with very serious and upsetting cases but I always manage to remain professional, whilst showing empathy.
