  • Essay / And the contributions of Thomas Edison's inventions

Thomas Edison designed an electric light bulb, so that it lasted longer and was developed with cheap materials, so that everyone could have light. Despite the fact that this undertaking was difficult, Thomas Edison was able to gain great recognition for his achievements among other scientists. This creation not only provided Thomas Edison with the opportunity to gain recognition, but also more money and more backers to develop more solutions to the problems. To showcase his achievements, Thomas Edison invited people into his light bulb home and was able to obtain the bulb as a patent. Although other scientists were working on the same invention, he got the first rights to it because he was the first to present it with effective results. The light bulb made by Thomas Edison lasted not a few minutes but rather several hours before burning out, representing a quantum leap in development. After the light bulb, Thomas Edison had to create a way to generate electricity throughout the house, which he did via direct current. Although this strategy was not perfect and was later adapted to AC, it managed to get the job done. Thomas Edison spent a lot of time perfecting the light bulb and creating electricity in every home. With hard work and dedication, Thomas Edison created the path to power which plays an important role in the 21st century as everyone needs light and electricity to power most.
