Over the past couple of years, I've noticed a change in the way my generation communicates with each other compared to older generations. Recent technological innovations, such as social networking sites, are said to be changing the way we communicate and the interactions we get face-to-face. According to Charles Blow, author of Friends, Neighbors, and Facebook, “social media is reshaping our relationships, and our keyboard communities are affecting the attachments of our current relationships” (1). However, research shows that social media doesn't just change tangible relationships. but also the behavior of those who use the media. The ability to maintain tangible attachments and meaningful engagement with those around us is affected by social media. Historically, social media has become increasingly popular and portable media phenomena such as the development of text messaging and the trend of social networking sites are becoming increasingly popular. part of today's culture. The development of these media has changed communication between people, so communication has become less personal and less electronic. We are not confined to just one mode of communication. Social interaction through faceless means of communication began with email. Years later, cell phones appeared and gradually the option of text messaging became available to cell phone users. Since then, more and more innovations in wearable and social media have emerged and driven behavioral change and tangible social interaction. However, the major development that is taking a toll on interaction between young adults and adolescents is social networking sites and the use of handheld devices with interactive media. The history of wearable technology extends much further than paper. .... technological progress in a negative light, although this is no longer the case today. However, other innovations are not as widespread as today. The Internet disseminates information more quickly than before, impacting more effectively the way society and individuals interact.
