The Holocaust was the massacre of approximately six million Jews during World War II. Hostility or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group is known as anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism was a centuries-old phenomenon. Jews in Europe have always been a minority. In some countries, Jews could not own land, attend school, or practice certain professions. The Holocaust, which took place between 1933 and 1945, constitutes the most extreme example of anti-Semitism in history. A German journalist named Wilhelm Marr coined the term anti-Semitism in 1879. It symbolized hatred of Jews, as well as hatred of various advanced, Catholic, and international political trends of the 18th and 19th centuries, often associated with Jews. The trend attacked included equal civil rights, demanded equality, free trade, property, unaccountable enterprise, and self-control in the face of violence. Among the simplest definitions of anti-Semitism throughout history are pogroms. Pogroms were violent riots against Jews and often supported by government authorities. Pogroms were often encouraged by blood libels, which were false rumors that Jews were using the blood of Christian children for ritual purposes. In modern times, anti-Semites have added a political dimension to their ideas of hatred. In the last third of the 19th century, anti-Semitic political groups formed in France, Germany and Austria. Advertisements such as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion have developed or supported false theories about a global Jewish conspiracy. A compelling element of political anti-Semitism was nationalism, whose proponents often falsely accused Jews of disloyal citizens. The Nazi Party, which was created in 19...... middle of paper ......d to lead Europe to economic and political ruin and make it susceptible to Jewish control. To this day, anti-Semitism is still present in this world. A March 2008 report by the US department revealed an increase in Semitism around the world. A survey conducted revealed that one in four adults has a deeply anti-Semitic attitude. Anti-Semitism will last forever. I don't think this will stop. Anti-Semitism is like when the Southern states didn't accept African Americans back then. To this day, some people still feel a certain sympathy for people of different religions or cultures. If this has been going on for many years, it will continue for years to come. No matter how good the world is, there will always be bad. Anti-Semitism still exists, as does racism, and much more. Maybe one day everyone will accept themselves as they are.
