Essay / Call of the Entrepreneur - 989
OverviewIn the documentary "Call of the Entrepreneur", three successful entrepreneurs, Brad Morgan, Frank Hanna and Jimmy Lai, are featured to explain their views on entrepreneurship and, by therefore, leadership. Brad Morgan is the owner of a million-dollar dairy and compost company, Frank Hanna is an investment banker in New York, and Jimmy Lai is the founder of Giordano department stores and Next Media. A central theme of the documentary is how each of these businessmen displays the characteristics of perseverance, patience and perseverance to overcome frustrating obstacles and achieve success. The film defines entrepreneurship and explains how the entrepreneur responds positively to consumer demands and is able to organize and lead others toward a goal that only the entrepreneur can see. The film shows that while some entrepreneurs are motivated by greed and others are not, those who succeed meet the needs of consumers. The Call of the Entrepreneur: Answering the Call If you had asked Brad Morgan years ago if he thought he would become a compost farmer, he might have laughed at you. Today, however, this is his reality, and he takes it very seriously because compost was the answer to most of Morgan's problems. On the verge of bankruptcy, Brad was forced to find a solution to the collapse of prices in the dairy market. Having already been advised to leave the dairy business due to financial failure and to overcome this situation by improving milk production and quality, Morgan was now looking for a quick solution or risk leaving the business altogether. Although his future seemed bleak, it was Morgan's perseverance and patience that paid off. With his knowledge of his business, Morgan began researching tons of information and applied that knowledge to create capital and wealth for the future. In each example, we can see a case in which these leaders were able to see what others could not and direct their workers toward the future goal. ReferencesHayek, FA (1944). The road to serfdom.
