Essay / Misbehavior and Misbehavior - 719
Misbehavior, a traditional discipline word commonly used to describe the child's misbehavior that was to be punished for it. However, wrong behavior is seen as something that needs to be corrected through teaching, not punishment. Children's bad behavior tends to internalize negative labels. In contrast, misbehavior is used to describe the conflicts children encounter when learning new skills, and guides them to resolve and learn from them. The biggest difference between misbehavior and bad behavior is how the teacher perceives it, because guidance requires teachers to view conflicts not as misbehavior, but as bad behavior. Additionally, bad behavior and misbehavior have similarities and both have consequences. However, they are different. Misbehavior requires children to be disciplined, compared to misbehavior which requires children to learn more prosocial responses and be taught by the adult.
