These statistics indicate that the gaming industry is not only one of the largest and fastest growing businesses in the world, but also demonstrate that it also outperforms other equally popular entertainment media, such as cinema, books and music, in terms of revenue and annual growth. . Over the fifty years that video games have been around, they have quickly become an integral part of many people's lives and their popularity continues to grow.
