She allows her readers to think for themselves about the issues that women normally face, such as: relational betrayal, worry for their partners away from home, the stress of caring for children, and pain to lose their loved ones. I found it easy to like Sophie's traits more than the other characters in this novel. She was caring, loving and warned against making mistakes. I liked Melody's habits the least.
