Essay / Persuasive Essay: Going to College Isn't for Everyone
Courtney NguyenMs. ChandlerHWL1March 11, 2014College isn't for everyoneThere are parents whose children are about to enter the adult world and citizens who pay taxes even if they don't have children at school. Would citizens want to pay more taxes for ungrateful and ungrateful students? Would parents want to see their child's life ruined because of a bad corona? Or even see their own dream ruined because of their parents? The university teaches students responsibility, independence and many other life skills they need to know in the adult world. They learn to work hard to get what they want in life; the easier it is, the easier it goes. If college were to be free, most students wouldn't enjoy it as much as if they worked for it themselves. College should not be a free program for careless and irresponsible students to take advantage of. Are you considering making college free for students to make everyone's life easier? Well, it won't be free for everyone who isn't a student; nothing in life is completely free. If tuition is free, does that mean water bills are free? What about gas bills for heaters in winter? Or will students just freeze to death in a classroom trying to learn? And lunch? Who and how will all these things be paid for? As the Denver Post puts it: “As wages rise across the rest of the economy, universities must pay their employees more even if their output doesn't increase, leading to higher costs. Simply changing who pays the bill won't change this equation much. (Andrew P. Kelly n.pag.). There are many other ways that free college could impact people's time and money. The Smart Mode website says...... middle of paper......npost.com/2010/04/11/most-successful-people-wh_n_533355.html#s74922title=Rachael_RayYou don't have to 'have a university degree to succeed; it just depends on the determination of the student. TheDailyCaller says: “There are currently 155,000 janitors with bachelor’s degrees, according to Bob Morse. » Which means that even if the student got a college degree, it doesn't always mean the job they want. Students who have to pay and work hard for college will appreciate it more, college shouldn't be free! There won't be enough money, students might end up with the wrong crowd, and if they didn't go to college, they wouldn't have to waste their time, the professor's time, and the everyone's money. So the next time you get something easily, maybe you should think about how and why it came to you so easily, appreciate the things you have because nothing in life is free..
