Essay / Racial discrimination, the complete opposite of social justice...
Social justice is equality and fairness for all human beings. It is the subject of many official Catholic teachings and Catholic organization. To understand the reasons for the compassion and love of Catholics seeking peace and justice for all humanity, it is important to look at a specific example of human injustice in today's world. Racial discrimination is prejudiced behavior towards a person based on their race. This is when a person is subjected to abusive behavior because they are of a different race. These actions occur in everyday society because people do not think, act, or believe the same things they do. Racial discrimination makes people feel unwelcome in the condition they were born and raised into. This has serious consequences on that person's life and that of everyone who comes into contact with them, as they may withdraw or even change the way they fit in. This problem causes many people to feel that there is no peace or justice towards them. them, because they are part of the overall world population. The issue of racial discrimination defies certain commandments of God and Jesus. Hitler attempted to commit mass genocide against all Jewish people. The Klu Klux Klan, also known as the KKK, decided to murder all African Americans. As God's 5th commandment says, "Thou shalt not kill", it applies to all types of murder, whether motivated by racial discrimination, the main examples being Hitler and the KKK. A person can kill a person by physical or mental means, as telling someone to kill themselves is considered, by law, attempted manslaughter. The 8th commandment explores that everyone should be treated the same, regardless of the reason. “You... middle of paper... Every person has the right to feel safe in their own home and in society, and to be treated equally by everyone they encounter, because race shouldn't be an issue. difference factor in actions. As stated in John 7:24: “…Do not judge by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment…” everyone should be allowed to experience life without the burden of what they look like, what he believes in and what he acts on. The actions of many people have disfigured the way God intended creation, and by acting in a discriminatory manner, they are not living their lives in the image of God. People have been unfairly treated for actions they did not commit and some have even been murdered in gruesome ways. No one should be subjected to such treatment in any way. Social justice manifests itself through racial discrimination in the way laws and the Church have helped to eradicate this phenomenon.
