Compliance PaperThe social norm I decided to go against for this article involved intrusion into the personal space of others. I'm a more shy or reserved person, so I knew it would be a challenge for me to do something too over-the-top for this article. I decided to sit next to strangers even if I could find empty seats elsewhere. I decided it would work better if I broke the social norm repeatedly. Since I have to travel between ASU campuses, I have the joy of taking the ASU intercampus shuttle. I know this shuttle fills up while I'm taking it, so everyone ends up sharing a seat. The bus configuration is two people per seating section. While it might not seem like a big deal to sit next to someone on the bus, it breaks the social norm. I've been taking this shuttle for a while now and there seems to be some sort of unspoken rule about not sitting next to anyone unless you absolutely have to.
