  • Essay / Downloading files to my computer - 682

Imagine my room downloading a file to your computer. At fifteen percent of the file download, the furniture begins to appear on your monitor. The wall, desk, chairs and shelves are all monotonous white. You say to yourself: “How tasteless this room is!” » The doors, lamps and trash can reinforce this impression. You start to see specks of dust appear on the ground as well as occasional trash, but not to the point of calling me a redneck. At twenty-five percent, my laptop and books appear on your screen. All the books on the shelves are academic preparation manuals for final exams and the SAT. Neither excites me, but studying hard builds my patience and teaches me time management. Additionally, the SAT draws on my English lexicon, allowing me to better express my ideas. With the books comes my thick black notebook named Charlie after my favorite comedian, Charlie Chaplin. (I named it after him because they are both thick, black, and always stay silent.) I keep Charlie next to my bed so that when I wake up from my dreams, I can record them, capturing all fresh feelings and sudden emotions. As Charlie Chaplin said: “We think too much and feel too little. » My notebook assures me that this is never the case for me. The download is now at forty-two percent and my four pairs of shoes - fashionable, casual, sporty and uniform - appear. The cheeky sneakers are four years old and well-worn from my Body Combat martial arts class, where my addiction to the program led my trainer to call me BodyComaniac. I transformed myself with the program – inside and out – making me a more active and energetic person. As the youngest member of the class, I easily made friends with other students in my...... middle of paper......with an enlightened mind. I want to continue my studies in America because my own country faces too many technological limitations and I want to learn my content to the best of my ability. For me, a computer is like a virtual world in which there are unlimited possibilities. I often look back at my IT projects with satisfaction, imagining the day when I would sit in a large building with my name engraved above it and freely control various high-powered devices. My academic books could never make me feel that way and so they are a completely different hobby. The file download is complete! Now you have an idea of me: a jaded room dweller, a young BodyComiac, a diligent student, an emotional writer, a strategist, a painting observer, an airy piano player and a technology enthusiast. I don't drive, I sleep late, and just buying new software keeps me happy.
