Essay / Reasons why children should not always listen to their...
There is often conflict when discussing the idea of whether children should always listen to their parents. Of course, there are some things that parents with more common sense, wisdom and foresight know better than inexperienced and foolish young children. But in everything, in life, there is a limit. Just as parents know, eating too much candy makes your stomach hurt. But children often realize that the best way to keep people interested is to make it new and trendy. So certainly, there are some reasons why children should not listen to their parents, as shown in Romeo and Juliet. The first reason why children should not listen to their parents is that sometimes parents think they know what is best for their children, but the choice they made does not make the children happy. The most common and relevant example is when old Capulet tries to force Juliet to marry Count Paris. Of course, in the eyes of the Capulets, Paris and the city of Verona, this marriage is a great alliance. But for Juliette, this option is absolutely detestable. At the age of fourteen, she is not looking to get married because A) she is already married to Romeo, B) does not want to be married to an old man like her mother and C) realizes that this option is not for her. will not allow you to get married. she is happy. In Act III, scene v, lines 118 just after Lady Capulet mentions the pre-arranged marriage to Paris, "He will not make a merry wife of me!" » Here she says that they won't make her marry happily or at all for that matter. Certainly, children should not always listen to their parents because only they know what will make them happy sometimes, just like in Juliet's case. Another reason why children should not always obey...... middle of paper.... ..to grow up, is well shown by Juliette. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, it is shown that although it is important to consider your parents' ideas and thoughts, sometimes disobeying is the best choice. SOMETIMES. Not always, which is also shown in the play. The idea that children know what will make them happy plays a major role. There is also the idea that sometimes, when a person's ethics and moral views are at stake, it may be best to do what you feel is right. The last was that sometimes children need to be alone to grow and learn valuable life lessons that will serve them well in the bright future they have. So a person can argue one way or the other, but there comes a time in a child's life where they rebel and a lot of times it doesn't go well, but sometimes it does and there will always be next time. Unless you die first.
