Essay / The Effect of Society on the Individual - 1159
Suicide has now become a common doctrine in society. Many people around the world end their lives; the causes are vast once you think about it. Many circumstances can end up changing a person and therefore changing their life, from personal heartbreaks to incurable illnesses. Therefore this small variability is capable of calling into question the meaning of our actions which dictate our existence. Yet the most disturbing fact is that the individuals who should have everything a good life can offer are those who have the highest suicide rates in the world. This creates a suicide-happiness paradox, where the happiest people living in the happiest places in the world have the highest suicide rates in the world. However, the unique problem this poses is one in which society has constructed a stereotypical “happiness”. This stereotypical happiness misleads the individual into creating a goal and purpose, based on traits and ideas that society has imposed or prevented. Therefore, individuals' striving for happiness does not lead to true happiness but rather leads to exasperation and worthlessness, creating reasons and risk factors for suicide. Society has unconsciously created a stereotype of happiness. There are countless people who have set themselves a goal in life. Whether it is an emotional or professional objective, it is ultimately what defines and gives meaning to our existence, it is our quest for happiness. Yet society has created a system that stigmatizes boundaries and segments between human beings. Thus giving rise to decrees that indirectly influence and dictate the life of an individual. The application of rules, decision-making, the virtues of each being... middle of paper ...... the admission and absurd reasoning of being able to question the meaning of life, existence. Yet, as rational members of society that we are, it is our instinct to follow the meaning or purpose of society, but it is also in this assumption that the individual foolishly and unconsciously chooses to live and to be happy with possessions. the company offers like money. Ultimately, this stereotypical happiness that society has given birth to and that societal individuals have endured ends up being the paradoxical reason that bequeaths the meaning and purpose of life and is ironically the one that leads to the demise of life, questioning its value and meaning. , and thus creating societal suicide. Where ultimately each person loses their status as a uniquely existing individual and becomes the bearer of a stereotype of happiness that society has endured.
