  • Essay / Airport Terminal Passenger Movement - 1035

Traveling across the country can be a challenge due to the many ways to choose. Even when you and your family decide to travel to plan a vacation and take your personal vehicle, it can be complicated. The time you have seems to be a major factor, because if the trip is too long, how tired will you be after the trip. Sure, there are trains and buses that can get you to your destination at your desired time and probably won't be as busy and the lines won't be as long, but the preferred choice and transportation industry in addition big growth are the airlines. The airline industry has many people who travel every year for various reasons, from one city to another, such as business or leisure trips. “The common perception of business travelers is that they tend to travel more frequently than leisure travelers and that they tend to pay higher prices for these services” (Mason, 1995). Whether business or leisure, the airport terminal is a busy and complex place to visit every year. With more than 650 million passengers traveling each year, each with different agendas, itineraries, needs and desires, airport terminals have become complex systems in their own right, integrating both the necessary services and processing of passengers and baggage as well as a full range of customer services, retail, food and beverage outlets, and other facilities to seamlessly transition passengers between the airside and landside components of the airport system as pleasant as possible. (Wells and Young, 2003, p.208) People these days need to understand that due to security concerns, the days of arriving at the airport within 30 minutes and catching your flight are over. The post 9/11 incidents made things different...... middle of paper ...... ore takeoff. You just need to do your part and you can be part of the large group of passengers who travel through the many airports each year, with little or no problems. The airline industry is adapting to all new challenges, and it won't be long before it finds a way to get us through terminals even faster. Works cited by CNN@ 2011 Cable News Network.
