Web DesignWe have come a very long way since the dawn of time. We are much further along in many ways; one of our advances is our technological knowledge. With this knowledge we can do many things like burn CDs, go to space and cure people of different diseases. The Internet constitutes a very important technological advance. Thanks to the Internet, people today can do things easily. We may communicate by email or instant messaging or search for information online through search engines. These search engines were created through web design. Web design has helped us get to where we are today in terms of technology and economics. The World Wide Web was created in the early 1980s at CERN, a physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. Tim Berners-Lee, a man who worked at CERN, originally wanted to find better ways to circulate scientific papers and other data electronically within the physics research community around the world. After some time, he finally developed the code for a hypertext server program and made it available on the Internet. The code used was HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). Although the first browser was only useful for viewing text documents, we are now able to read these HTML documents and display graphics and other platforms as well using today's web browsers such as Netscape Navigator. Browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer helped us. to view different documents on the web. Most of these documents are in HTML. This language is very powerful, as shown by the place it has brought us today in website building.
