I believe that a fertile learning environment is one where teachers treat students as their peers, accept and respect them as intellectual students whose beliefs and opinions are considered, honored and appreciated. . I also like working in a classroom where students and teachers interact and dialogue. I also view a fertile learning environment as one that promotes academic freedom and encourages experimentation and originality. I feel like I learn in an environment where students feel safe and supported, where individual needs and uniqueness are honored, especially in the LAC301 class. The intensive learning environment I experienced in this class catalyzed a fundamental shift in the way I view university teaching. Discovering the benefits of a liberal arts education changed the way I see the world. Additionally, I understood that the LAC301 course offers both physical comfort and psychological safety in the learning environment. Things like a structured classroom, comfortable chairs, and nearby restrooms can make a huge difference in the quality and impact of the learning experience. I also like the way we do things in class. For example, I find the discussion time we have in class very valuable and important to my learning process. Since attending LAC 301, I have had a positive attitude toward education and a strong foundation that will serve me well throughout my career at Marylhurst University. I come from a different culture where the education system involves a lot of negatives. and it's hard and stressful. Classrooms can accommodate large groups; A typical Sri Lankan college classroom can accommodate around fifty students, usually arranged in rows in the middle of a sheet of paper......it is important to find a balance between learning activities individual and collective in an educational environment. To promote learning, members must share responsibility for creating a thriving and stimulating community. Additionally, the community should not use lectures to teach, but rather use Socratic formats that allow for the development of a dialogue between the student and the teacher. The exchange between students must be meaningful. Learning is facilitated when connections are made across the entire learning community to accomplish important work. Busy work and meaningless social activities harm the learning community, just as the Sri Lankan education system seems inadequate and stressful. The interaction highlighted in the CAEL document appears to emphasize the best that can be achieved using both individual and group education..
