The increase in business ended the Great...... middle of paper...... or both sides; losses increased. This is what primarily pushed the United States to drop the atomic bomb. The Japanese surrender only took place after the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima and the second on Nagasaki. The atomic bomb was the result of a top secret experiment called the Manhattan Project (The Americans. Rebuilding for the 21st Century). The war was finally over when Japan surrendered on August 14. America's entry into World War II had significance for America after the war. The United States' involvement in the war was long and took its toll on all participants in the war. The American military was the deciding factor in World War II. The United States grew militarily and economically through war.
