  • Essay / Crash Movie Analysis: Movie Movie Analysis

Although there were movies made before this one, like Remember the Titans, and others made after it, like 12 Years A Slave, that talk race, this film is unique in the way it approaches the subject. The focus is not on a specific race being discriminated against, it talks about multiple races and shows that even minorities can be prejudiced against each other. This is significant given that at the time the film was released, it was generally rude and socially unacceptable for people to say racist things to people's faces. Racism still existed, but it wasn't supposed to be publicized. Currently, with all the events that have occurred in recent years, such as police brutality, the influx of immigrants from Latin countries, and terrorist groups like ISIS, race is an increasingly discussed topic in the daily life. . Movies like Crash show that racism is something that needs to be discussed if we truly want it to ever go away.
