Corruption refers to the use of public property or power for the benefit of an individual or group of people. In reference to what the definition says, a situation of corruption could arise in an organization that actively manages money, and the people responsible for managing it within the institution take advantage of it for personal gain. Corruption is a problem found throughout the world, but it is more common in some countries than others. This is more likely to happen in poorer countries. As far as the Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Center is concerned, corruption happens most of the time because some people are willing to use illegal means to increase the profits of individuals or companies. To be a corrupt person, actions must be done with a specific purpose. Furthermore, even life circumstances that may prevent people from getting involved in such activities, they are not discouraged from doing so and pursue their illicit goals. According to the latest studies carried out in 2010 by the anti-corruption agency (Transparency International), 178 countries were studied, 57 had serious corruption problems and 73 of them had "rampant" corruption (Lash & Batavia 2013, p.1). Additionally, corruption has several events that can slow down a country's economic growth, decrease investments, and make it difficult for other countries to invest in countries where corruption is present. We will take as an example the possible avenues of corruption in a non-profit organization. In this organization, there is a political structure that allows it to function properly. There is a president or director, an administration department and staff who deal with customers. In addition, it is better to have an independent judicial system to monitor and assess damages in the event of a corruption case. Likewise, the consequences of breaking the rules must be serious and appropriate to what the person did. As recent studies show, the absence of property rights is one of the problems most encouraging corruption. It is therefore essential that different countries grant property rights in order to strengthen honesty, transparency and integrity between employers and employees.
