America's entrenched racism against Asians resulted in increased levels of brutality against Japanese soldiers, compared to other enemy soldiers they encountered during World War II worldwide. American law has demonstrated racism against Asians for decades. Immigrants and Asian citizens fought these discriminatory decisions, but faced opposition to their plight. Continuing racial discrimination against the Japanese caused a sense of resentment toward Japanese soldiers in the United States Army. Over the course of several campaigns, the American general infantry displayed cruelty toward the Japanese war conduct. Several mandates issued in California and Washington have devastated the lives of immigrants and Asian citizens. These mandates affected their ability to work in multiple industries. This undermined their source of income, making it impossible for them to be self-sufficient. Additionally, lawmakers have made citizenship difficult to obtain. The naturalization law is an example.
