Meteorology is one of the most interesting career fields because it is constantly evolving with the world. Meteorology is the study of the weather and atmosphere on earth. This job is difficult and requires a lot of commitment. The field of meteorology can be rewarding because through your research and forecasting you can help save many lives. Meteorology is divided into two distinct fields: research and forecasting. Research studies how the weather and even the world changes around us, while weather forecasts predict how and where current weather systems will affect the population in a specific area. A bachelor's degree is required for almost all meteorology jobs. However, in the field of research, a master's degree is required. Having a good work ethic and being able to work in a team is almost mandatory for any job in meteorology. Meteorology is a challenging career, but it's also a science that I really love. The fields of research and forecasting differ significantly in many ways. The research field is primarily concerned with future weather conditions and attempts to predict their impact on the world. To predict future weather conditions, meteorologists use many models that they set up on computers to simulate what will happen in the future. Research meteorologists work in groups to increase their productivity. They find their data independently, then present their information to their colleagues to get constructive criticism on how to improve their models. After peer review, researchers get ideas for improving their work. Chemistry and computer science courses are very useful for working in this professional field. You have to get a master's degree, but...... middle of paper ...... I would love this job. The negatives are outweighed by the rewarding fact that with every forecast you produce or with every research you conduct, you help save someone's life.
