INTRODUCTION This is a thought report on how the idea for this book cover came to be. It became a really interesting thing after reading a few eBooks, to be able to design a book cover that presents information to the reader. With information from online resources including e-books and articles, the ambition on the theme of book cover design has been equipped. THEMEThe theme of the book cover is entitled “Jerome’s Diary”; it immediately became a book cover idea when I took this class because Jerome had a journal that he treated like he was writing a book, but he never really thought about a cover for it- here. The book contains detailed information about everything that happens in Jerome's life, so I thought about what a potential cover for the book would look like. To continue this idea, I took a photo of Jerome and another image of a page from the original handwritten book.CONCEPTWith a basic idea of ​​what it takes to design a book cover and the multimedia components required, I I checked online to see how other book covers were being designed, as well as how the components were being integrated into the art. With a concept in mind, a first design model was created. This was evaluated by friends and by the laboratory assistant, who advised the addition of certain components as well as the removal and/or change of others. With so much help, a final design correctly representing the book cover I had envisioned was achieved. SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE USED Before design, the software and hardware necessary to facilitate the design of the book cover were accumulated. Adobe Photoshop CS5 was used to design the book cover.
