Technologies within cell phones are evolving rapidly; so quickly that changes cannot be controlled. Cell phones and telephones in general have evolved significantly since their invention, with everything available at the click of a button. In general, phones have evolved from connecting to another through a carrier, to calling someone using a rotary phone, to being able to contact someone while they are in travel to a pay telephone station, to have your own portable cell phone. . Cell phones have come a long way and improved technologically. However, with these advancements in cell phones, they have the ability to shape one for better or worse. Which side do you choose? Authors Christine Rosen, Paul Goldberger, Jeffery Rosen, and Sam Anderson all share the same technology topic, but each carries their own thoughts and ideas when it comes to cell phones shaping one. In Our Cell Phone, Our Selves by Christine Rosen, Rosen asks rhetorically. , “How has technology changed our behavior, and how might it continue to do so?” ” (457), indicating that technology has changed human beings in some sense. She explains how technology has shaped people and how technology affects the daily lives of Americans. Rosen provides condensed sections in his essay for each of his conclusions/proofs. These 6 sections include: Untethered, Communication Offenders, Will You Please Be Quiet? , Spectator sport, Absence without authorization and Discussion and conversation. In each section, Rosen mainly highlights the negativity behind cell phones and how they can destroy a person.
