Frenchs Forest, NSW: Pearson Australia. Marsh's book explores the different theories discovered about how students develop and learn. Taking a more theoretical approach to becoming a teacher, Marsh's book addresses the difficulties a teacher might encounter and provides insight into preparing future teachers for the challenges they may face in the 21st century classroom. In addition to providing an understanding of teaching itself, Marsh's book focuses on students in the classroom and how they adapt as they grow, eventually moving from one stage to another . This allows the reader to not only learn more about the classroom, but also learn how to adapt their teaching methods according to different student varieties, learning abilities and change throughout the stages of teaching. This article explores the benefits of student learning and how an engaged student will learn at the peak of their abilities. This article explains to the reader that introducing a teaching method that not only provides students with knowledge, but does so in a way that actively engages them in something that will interest them more. This type of learning means they have control over their own ability to learn and adds a feeling of applying their knowledge in real-life situations. While covering facts and resource information, the article explains ways to implement these teaching methods and adapt them to the abilities of different students. Studies have shown that self-control and positive behaviors can be contagious within a classroom (Lehrer, 2010), where the same aspect can be seen with negativity. This book focuses on good teaching and ways a teacher can turn a student's negative thoughts about school into positive ones by discussing ways the teacher can approach these situations while keeping in mind mind the physiological and psychological changes that students go through. In this book, Ferlazzo chose to focus on the teacher as a role model in the classroom and how their attitude toward learning can have a huge impact on how the student will learn and succeed in the classroom.
