Even though Carol consumed the required number of servings from each of the four food groups, her choices for each food group could have been better. Carol's food choices did not reflect the six guiding statements in Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating as well as they should. to have. The first guideline statement is to "regularly consume a variety of foods...... middle of paper...... k milk." For snacks, I usually have soups, fruits, juices, etc. I eat a variety of foods from all four food groups each day while focusing on “low fat” foods. I am quite active with karate, football and occasionally jogging. Even though I'm still active, I don't eat as much as Carol does in a day. Carol has many other foods in her diet and I generally don't, as I try not to eat margarine or any extra additives to foods. As for portion size, I meet the requirements for vegetables and fruits, but I am missing one serving or sometimes all servings of dairy and meats and alternatives.
