Essay / Poltergeist and its existence - 1632
The paranormal phenomenon is a mystical event. The phenomena usually taint the natural laws that humans have discovered in this world and leave a confusing feeling in those who encounter the event. Many paranormal phenomena have occurred in the past. Some of the natural paranormal phenomena are reincarnation, where one is reborn into the world (North 11-13); possession, where one gains knowledge from a person's past life or by being controlled by a spirit (North 19-22); ghost, appearance of a spirit or a deceased person (North 61-64); and finally poltergeist, a physical disturbance caused by an explainable force (Forcella). Among this list, ghosts are the ones most often encountered during a paranormal event. According to a study by Gallup and Newport (1991), approximately one in ten people in the general population have seen ghosts. Furthermore, in another study by McClenon (1994), “…reported that 30% of his accounts of supernatural events refer specifically to apparition experiences. » Which means that most cases related to paranormal phenomenon are most likely related to ghosts (Laythe and Own 1). Although it is the most commonly encountered event, the explanation for the existence of ghosts is not as well defined as that of poltergeists. Furthermore, when compared to the four paranormal phenomena previously listed, the poltergeist does not always imply life beyond death. In most cases, this involves the living with a concrete explanation of poltergeist (Forcella) activity. Poltergeists have been around for centuries. The first reported case of poltergeist activity dated back to 858 BCE.
