    Global warming is a terrible problem that is increasingly influencing the world and its weather patterns these days. Since 2012, it has caused or influenced weather events such as Superstorm Sandy, the July heatwave in the United States, and the crazy amounts of rain that fell in Australia and New Zealand (Bradberry and Tompkins). The only real effects I felt personally would have been the crazy heatwave of summer 2012, which made it almost impossible to enjoy or do anything significant outside. Many farmers across the country were affected by this event, as the heat damaged many of their crops. Decreasing harvests lead to an increase in the price and quality of the foods Americans buy every day, demonstrating that global warming really can indirectly affect everyone and is not something to be taken lightly. As humans, we produce large amounts of carbon dioxide that damages our atmosphere and causes global warming and extreme weather (NRDC, Extreme Weather: Impacts of Climate Change). However, there are things that can be done to stop global warming....
