    A family either plays a positive role in life leading to success or a negative role leading to failure. The love and care of a family is very important in determining prosperity in the lives of its members, and without this support, a person will only face adversity. In Fall On Your Knees by Ann-Marie McDonald, the Piper family, mainly the father, is responsible for the sad lives of the Piper girls. The disappointment in the lives of Frances, Kathleen and Mercedes is due to lack of love and care, inadequate parenting and overprotectiveness. Frances Piper's childhood consists of inadequate love, a loss of innocence, and a lack of concern, ultimately leading to her disastrous life. At the age of six, she experienced several traumatic events, including the death of those close to her and the loss of her innocence. Instead, he assaults Frances on the night of Kathleen's funeral to ease the grief of his lost daughter.
