    From the beginning, his family panics when they cannot find a reason why Samsa does not get up in the morning to go to work. Her mother was even pleading at the door, “Aren’t you okay? Can I bring you something? »(507). Showing that she was truly concerned about her son's health and wanted to make sure he was okay. However, after seeing the state he is actually in, they want nothing to do with him. Throughout the day, “his parents were not encouraged to come and visit him” (521). Even though they were so worried about him when he was first locked in his room and didn't know why, now that they know they're not making any effort to make him feel better in the place where it is located. His sister began by bringing him different foods in a newspaper to "get a feel for what he likes and doesn't like" (517), and after a while she began "hastily pushing the food or other in Samsa's room with its root” (528). His sister started by being nice to her brother and making him as comfortable as possible without worrying at all about what he ate or how he got it. She made it seem like it was a waste of time. Eventually, the family got to the point that they no longer referred to Samsa by name but began calling him "It." Even saying that they “have to get rid of it…it’s the only thing to do” (533).
