Seth woke up with a start. It was dawn and the dew on the windows had frozen during the night and left little crystals that looked like the veins on a wing. This gave the window a nice realistic appearance. He was breathing heavily as he came back to the reality of what he assured himself was a dream. He got up shakily, walked to his window and looked out. As he looked through the frigid window of the log and wood farmhouse, he found himself wiping his breath out of the window as it came out of his mouth like a cloud of steam and came to rest on the window like a circle of fog. As they approached his log cabin, they saw smoke. His house was on fire. He saw no sign of his uncle or Brom anywhere. When Saphira landed, Seth jumped off her back and ran towards his burning house. When he returned, he had two bodies on his shoulders and tears streaming down his face. He laid the bodies down and sobbed. Brom and his uncle were dead. “What do you want to do next,” Saphira asked, sympathizing with Seth. He waited a moment before responding, but the message was clear from the expression on his face, "I want revenge," he said. said coldly.
