However, for some children and their educational providers, this development is essential to the child's cognitive development. Discipline is necessary to achieve cognitive development. It is also essential for the safety and physical well-being of the student, in addition to their cognitive, social and emotional development. This research will attempt to identify corporal punishment and its effectiveness in correcting a student's behavior in middle school. Description of corporal punishment Discipline and punishment are not synonymous. In some cases, parents and education officials who enforce strict discipline rarely resort to punishment. Corporal punishment is a form of corporal punishment that involves the deliberate infliction of increasingly severe pain. Today, students are increasingly suffering from depression, anxiety, and many emotional problems due to the use of corporal punishment. The ineffectiveness of corporal punishment has socially stifled the growth of our society. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of corrective corporal punishment on the behavior of middle school students. It is hoped that the results will help to foster alternative and more effective means of correcting inappropriate behavior for the student learner. Research Question The research question that will be considered in this study is: Is corporal punishment effective in correcting student behavior? The researcher believes that the use of corporal punishment is ineffective in correcting inappropriate student behavior..
