    This term is often used to refer to a love between very close male friends, at least that's what we thought it was. Brotherly love involves loving all others; it is a love that unites the isolated individual with others. Fromm describes brotherly love as the most fundamental form of love. This type of love is a feeling of responsibility, care, respect, knowledge of every other human being, a love between equals (Fromm 47). Brotherly love is also something that can be based on the experiences that each person shares and that unites them. The only things that set them apart are differences in their talents, intelligence, and knowledge. In the Bible it says to love your neighbor as you do yourself, so brotherly love is exactly
