  • Essay / A Person by the philosopher Peter Singer: What is a Person?

Peter Singer's side attempts to eliminate the suffering of a child and his parents or an elder and his children by cutting off their lives from future suffering. Proponents of equality aim to reduce suffering by eliminating the killing of a living creature. The biological side also emphasizes that by valuing one life over another, we ultimately create suffering by favoring one particular group over another. In response, on Singer's side, it is explained that there is in fact a choice left to the guardian of the disabled person, that he is not required to kill his family.
