    We need additional gun control laws to ensure public safetyApril 19, 1999, Nafis Jefferson, 7, was shot and killed with a .44 caliber revolver, a Rossi model. 720, while playing with friends on a street in his South Philadelphia neighborhood. The children found the gun hidden under an abandoned car parked along the street. One of the children, also 7 years old, picked up the gun and fired, hitting Nafis in the head.
