The author asserts that over the past two decades, Americans have experienced major changes in the dynamics and structure of their families. The author argues that over the course of their lives, many families and individuals have struggled to balance their home, career, and family life. However, today, employers and educational institutions are developing strategies to help families and individuals balance their home life, education and career. The author also argues that dramatic changes in the current social, economic, and political structure of American families have thrown many families and individuals into crisis. Therefore, the author believes that changes in our family dynamics have affected families and individuals more than ever. For example, in the past, wives could stay at home and raise their children, and husbands were the sole providers for their families. Regardless of how the mother chose to work in the early days, there was always someone to watch the children, but changes and the current economic downturn have forced almost everyone in the family to find employment .
