Essay / Personal Development Plan Essay: My Personal Growth Plan
This is the goal where I feel like I still need to improve the most. Being mindful is the most difficult aspect for me because it is not something I can just do, it is the very essence of being. This is something I admit I still struggle with. Mindful reading is something that has helped me exponentially. My reading speed increased and I was able to stay focused longer. I'm able to do more in shorter periods of time, which opens up my schedule to be social. Dancing, walking, practicing flow art, and eating are all things where I started using mindfulness. The Intrapersonal Communication class I was taking at the same time also helped me recognize some of my thoughts and feelings in my body. . I started to listen more to what I was feeling and allow myself to work on it more quickly. The only thing that has made mindfulness really difficult to follow is my depression, and I honestly feel that once this semester is over, this course on child physical and sexual abuse will no longer harm my health. For someone who has been abused, it's not something I want to be aware of. Despite this, I tried to preserve it as best as possible for my
