    Final Reflection As I reflect on my experiences of personal professional development as an educator, the awareness of how one has developed over time is personally satisfying. Raising children, especially children with special needs, is a challenge in itself. As a teacher, it is important that this writer has a positive influence on students. There will be certain ideas that we will try to defend and other discriminations that we will not allow. Everyone has their own beliefs. Teachers must do what is necessary not to encroach on others, but show children a different way of thinking so that they have all the information necessary to make informed choices. The children are open-minded and have not yet had to face or understand the injustices they will face. If children learn from a young age, they will have the ability to succeed, especially children with special needs. As an educator, my primary goal is to teach the purpose of public schools and education reform. My goal is to influence children and be a positive influence. Over the past eight weeks, this writer has gained a monumental amount of knowledge in a short period of time. Each module and activity clearly defined each objective covered in the readings. Reflection plays an important role in increasing self-awareness, after thinking about the course assignments, the writer is ready to use the knowledge he has acquired. After taking this course, you feel comfortable to successfully use materials from the professional world. Before taking this course, much about the laws and rights afforded to students with disabilities was unclear. Knowledge is power and knowledge has allowed this writer to understand how a special educator middle of paper......is not eligible for special education services. By writing this final essay for this course, one is able to reflect on the knowledge acquired since the beginning of the course. This course was effective and the benefits are immediate use of the information to correct errors and advance in the profession. After interviewing attorneys and special directors through the training program, the reality of the importance of complying with regulations is important and must be respected. As a special educator, one is better prepared and ready to provide a top-notch education.
