    Relationship between government and business in the United StatesThe government's position is to ensure that citizens are not harmed by business operations, such as the sale of spoiled food or the preparation of food in unsanitary conditions, causing ecological damage. harm or deal unscrupulously with financial matters. As government has grown, regulation, taxation, and government spending have been beneficial to business (Carney, 2006). Businesses prefer that the government eliminate government regulations and oversight agencies so that they can continue to operate in a way that would increase their profits. Most business leaders believe that the government is overly involved in the running of businesses. A 2005 poll found that 90% of Americans believed that big business had a lot of influence over government. CEOs of large corporations may have personal meetings with senators and cabinet secretaries to discuss their positions and influence their decision-making (Carney, 2006). Since the Obama administration, the government has interacted directly with businesses to ensure they are financially responsible so as not to negatively impact American citizens. President Obama had to intervene on behalf of Wall Street, automakers and the banking industry with a stimulus package to avoid an economic depression in the country. Business and government must work together to ensure citizens have the greatest protection in all areas, including health and safety, defence, the economy and environmental protection.
