  • Essay / My Moral Values - 784

For example, in my culture you are expected to hit your children for disciplinary reasons or you risk being seen as an unfit and weak parent. Although I don't always agree with most beliefs, there are a few that I have chosen to accept, such as respecting the elderly and not talking back to one's parents. Likewise, because I was born and raised in America, I have modified my moral views, unlike those of my parents. Living here has had a huge impact on my life. I was in the public school system my entire childhood and thought about accepting others and their opinions due to the wide cultural diversity. I had many friends from many different cultures who taught me a lot. That's probably what made me so open-minded. Another contributor to my open-mindedness is probably the Internet. I often spend time online and connect with thousands of views. Nowadays, thousands of people post their opinions and are often challenged by others. Through careful observation and careful thought, you begin to form your own opinions about the good and bad sides of certain things.
