E-mail is today the most used communication tool within companies. Email has been described as a curse and a blessing. Emails reach their recipients quickly and can be sent anywhere in the world in seconds. Companies with multiple locations find communication essential. Email can also reach large numbers of people with just a few clicks. Sending a mass email reaches many recipients with one cohesive message. Although email gets a lot of praise, its downsides also need to be considered. Email communication can have a financial impact on an organization. Emails sent without a clear message can lead to misinterpretations that can ultimately cost the company money. Employees often complain of receiving up to, sometimes more, 100 emails per day and often, many of them are none of their business. For every email the employee has to read to determine its value or spend time reading to perceive a clear message, it reduces the employee's productivity. Managers and colleagues who use effective email techniques can increase communications accuracy, reduce frustration, and increase productivity. BYRON, K. (2008). CARRYING A LOAD TOO HEAVY?
