    Mention the word mathematics and a considerable number of people will certainly express their dislike for the subject. To illustrate: Raytheon Corporation surveyed approximately 1,000 adulterants to find out whether they would rather eat broccoli or work on a math problem. The majority of students picked broccoli. The terror of mathematics extends to the end of life. According to a study conducted by the nonprofit Change the Equation Institute in 2010, nearly a third of Americans would rather clean an unsanitary toilet than do a math homework assignment. (Paul, 2013). However, for many people, it's not just about hating math. Today, in schools, 2.4 million students are diagnosed with a learning disability. Learning disabilities are temperamental disorders that affect a person's ability to “speak, listen, think, read, write, spell, or calculate,” and thus negatively impact learning (Kaye, 2010). Mathematics learning difficulties can range from mild to severe and, contrary to popular belief, are just as inevitable as reading problems; Yet students with math deficits often do not receive the focus and attention they need to succeed. The effects of repeated failure in mathematics during the school years, combined with mathematics illiteracy in adulthood, can have detrimental effects on both daily life and career projections (Garnett, 1998). In an increasingly advanced world, mathematical knowledge – critical thinking skills, deductive logic, reasoning skills and problem-solving skills are no longer optional. Mathematics is essential to success, and as an educator it is essential to know how to recognize and understand various learning disabilities in mathematics as well as the strategies that can be implemented in...... middle of the article......
