The religion of Buddhism is one of the largest in terms of followers, worldwide distribution, and social and cultural influence. It is widely considered to be a religion of Eastern geographic origin, but is becoming increasingly influential in the Western world. Buddhism is a unique religion in the world and its beliefs are essentially based on the fact that the ultimate goal of a person's life is the achievement of enlightenment.
