In 1893, a decision was made that forever changed the Americas and now the taste buds of the world. It all started when Milton Hershey decided to coat his caramels with a sweet chocolate he produced. In the 1900s, the newly founded Hershey Company began selling its world-famous milk chocolate bars. Currently, The Hershey Company is the leading chocolate manufacturer in North America. As The Hershey Company has progressed over the years since 1894 and continues to introduce new products. Hershey has expanded all over the world and markets products in approximately ninety countries around the world [chocolate products, recipes, nutritional information]. As The Hershey Company grows, it remains committed to maintaining the vision and values that Milton Hershey had when he started the company so many years ago. The man behind the company is Milton S. Hershey. Hershey's and its incredible history; he went from being formally educated and almost bankrupt at the age of thirty to one of the most successful and wealthy entrepreneurs. He began his career in the candy business with a four-year apprenticeship with a candy manufacturer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Then, Hershey wanted to start his own company and from there, the journey was not easy for Hershey; he faced many obstacles during his rise to success. In 1876, he ventured to Philadelphia to start his own confectionery business which ultimately failed. After this failure, he found himself in Denver to work for a pastry chef. It was here that Hershey learned how to make caramels with milk. Subsequently, Hershey decided to try again to start his own business in New York, but his attempt once again ended in failure and he returned to Lanchester.
