  • Essay / High Energy Physics - 958

The ability to answer deep questions such as the origin of mass and the dominance of matter over antimatter and a keen desire to unlock the secrets of our universe motivate me to pursue a doctorate and subsequently a career as a researcher. in physics. As a doctoral student, I hope to discover and contribute to the extremely attractive field of high energy physics. I had my first experience of group research in high school while participating in a World Maths and Science Olympiad hosted by the University of Canberra. As a member of the team, all members had to study together to come up with solutions to the problems at hand. Studying various advanced concepts, beyond the school curriculum, opened a new horizon for me, motivated me to approach problems from a new perspective and realized my penchant for studying physics and mathematics. In the final round of the Olympiad, we won the silver medal for our school and a certificate of excellence. Preparing for the Olympiad, I gained not only a lot of new knowledge and experience, but also the confidence that devoting myself to physics was the right decision. By achieving excellent results in the final year Education Board examinations, which are the equivalent of a high school diploma in the United States, I was admitted to the University of Delhi, the university the highest ranked in India. I spent 3 years as part of the bachelor's degree in physics studying and developing physics concepts by following subjects ranging from classical mechanics, quantum mechanics to electricity and magnetism and statistical mechanics. I have had the privilege of studying under some of the best in their field and having access to much-needed research exposure. During the summer of 201...... middle of article ......high energy mental physics motivates me to study at the University of Florida. I am certain that working and studying in such an environment would provide me with the necessary exposure to intellectual development which is crucial and vital for professional maturity. The incentive to study the phenomenology of new physics beyond the Standard Model under the guidance of Professor Matchev is a very good reason to apply. Not only because it works on theoretical high energy physics, my favorite area of study, but also because I would like to study and ultimately contribute to the development of a grand unified theory. I believe that my ability to work with determination and focus, a strong academic record and research experience will be beneficial while continuing my education and that a doctoral program at the University of Florida would be the next step in my career..
