    I think BF Skinner shares my philosophy on the behavioral aspects of education. Many points have broadened my philosophy. One of them was the theory of operant conditioning, which states that behavior is modified by positive and negative consequences based on the individual's behavior. Positive reinforcements can range from food and candy to a toy or sticker. Negative reinforcement can take the form of a time out, a reprimand, or perhaps a spanking. It all depends on their behavior. One thing that surprised me was when Skinner said, “punishment is generally ineffective in controlling undesirable behavior.” I thought that was still the best way to go. Skinner also says it's best to ignore bad behavior until it stops. This doesn't seem like the best idea to me since the child won't know that this is not how they are supposed to act and if you don't let them know, they won't stop. I guess people didn't believe it could work, so he put it to the test. He tried it on his daughter and, although it took a while, he eventually discovered there were better methods. ...
