Essay / The causes of school shootings and how to deal with them
Imagine this, this morning, students innocently going to school like any other day. The next thing you hear is gunshots, people screaming, dead and injured children and teachers, and people running for help. No, this is not a scene from a Hollywood movie, this is reality. School shootings are a serious problem that must be addressed and prevented in order to bring peace to this world. A great message about the school shooting was delivered through the Black-Eyed Peas music video “BIG LOVE” which talked about the school shooting. The music video and song are so sad and yet true, we need love instead of people killing each other which will not lead humanity to good. What's shocking is that half of the school shooters were students. School shootings occurred in the 1990s and 1980s, but people did not pay attention to solving and preventing such acts because they did not occur frequently. Today, the number of school shootings is increasing horribly, especially in the United States. In my opinion, the causes of this horrible crime are very controversial. Some people might blame the parents, others the school, and still others the shooter. The more important question is what are the main causes that can lead a person to commit a terrorist attack as horrific as a school shooting and how can we better understand it? Say no to plagiarism. A psychiatric medication is a “medical” medication that doctors prescribe to people who suffer from a psychiatric illness such as severe depression, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, etc. Walking into a school and shooting everyone is a terrifying and horrible thing that a person cannot do unless they are under the influence of some type of drug, which can lead them to commit a crime without being fully conscious or aware of her actions. Nearly 80% of school shooters were under prescribed psychiatric treatment. This answers the question I continually ask myself: how could a mentally stable person commit such a crime? So, does the medication help the person or make things worse? Throughout my research on this topic, I discovered strong evidence that supports my opinion, namely a CCHRint interview with Constitutional Attorney Jonathan Emord. Jonathan Emord spoke in the video about the financial interest of the psychiatric drug industry and its connection to school shootings. This interview revealed the dark side of these drugs and how they are used by society for financial reasons. The more the psychiatric drug industry produces these “drugs”, the more revenue it will have, neglecting the fact that these drugs cause more harm than good to people's lives. There is no doubt that some people might need medication or medication to cure their serious illness (during their probation period), but perhaps medication is not always the right answer to cure a psychiatric illness, in particularly among young people. Concrete evidence of the negative effects of these psychiatric medications is the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting by Adam Lanza. Adam Lanza was born on April 22, 1992. On December 14, 2012,Adam Lanza, 20, went to an elementary school and shot 27 people: 20 children, 5 teachers and his mother. Adam first shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, then got in his car and drove about 5 miles to Sandy Hook Elementary School and began shooting everyone, then himself. Through research and investigation and numerous disputes and lawsuits, Attorney Jonathan discovered that after suing the State for refusing to show Adam Lanza's medical records, it was discovered that Adam was under psychiatric treatment, which could lead him to commit this crime. This does not justify Adam's act of violence, but it will surely cause mental health care providers to become more responsible in how to deal with mental disorders, because not everything can be solved with pills and medications. An environment of emotional, mental, and physical abuse can lead a person to commit a crime like a school shooting. Most people who have committed a crime like a school shooting were victims of abusive parents or extreme bullying at school. Constant bullying and hatred towards a student will not only cause depression and mental illness, but will turn them into criminals and terrorists. The sad thing is that one in four teachers do not consider bullying to be a problem. Living with abusive parents can be another reason that leads a person down this path. Living with parents who constantly abuse their child can cause the child to have suicidal thoughts and harm themselves because the child/teen is on the dark side of life due to the abuse they experience day in and day out. . I am not justifying this act of terror as intimidation or anything, I am blaming the constant hatred and abuse and being in the dark which can turn the person into a criminal and a terrorist. Throughout my research on this topic, I saw a very moving video on this topic. In a TedxTalk, Aaron Stark talked about his story and how he was so close to becoming a school shooter, until his friend helped him and enlightened him on how to get out of it. darkness and hatred. School shootings are a very controversial topic and people are always looking for a clear and obvious cause for this problem. In my opinion, I find Aaron's story useful for my research because it talks about aspects of the curtain and points related to my topic, which is the emotional side of the issue. Most people overlook the effect of their behavior towards others and do not feel guilty or even take responsibility for it. Aaron was abused when he was younger in all the ways that led to self-harming behaviors, suicidal thoughts, and thoughts about a school shooting. All thanks to his friend who helped him come out of the darkness and into the light. All thanks to the acts of kindness his friend showed him. And here's the clue: showing love and kindness and treating someone like a real human being has a huge positive effect on a person. A true story that proves how social environment can have a huge effect on a person's life is the story of Aaron Stark which he talked about in a TedxTalk. Aaron Stark, 39, opens up about his dark past and how he was so close to becoming a school shooter. Aaron grew up in a mentally, emotionally, and physically abusive family and circumstances. He was bullied and humiliated not only at school, but also by his abusive parents. This obviously led to his depression and self-harming behaviors like cutting his skin. He had only one friend he.
